  Design Exhibition at Campus Gateway
Features the Modern and Contemporary Art and Design of Pickard and Peterson

The exhibition was open to the public and featured the modern and contemporary art and design work of Brian Pickard, a graduate of the Knowlton School of Architecture at OSU, and Crystal Peterson. The show also included abstract paintings by Matthew Murtha and modern and interpretive dance performances by Amiti Perry and others from the OSU College of the Arts.

The exhibition was described as "an experiment in the perception of theoretical artwork in Columbus" by Pickard, whose work in abstract art strays from his attention to detail in design with an overwhelming overtone of what he describes as "the exploration of self" and "the visual abstraction of my deepest emotions". The diversity of the artist's portfolio displays great versatility and talent.

With its steady flow of patrons throughout the day, the show was a success. Representatives from the South Campus Gateway, Campus Partners, The Ohio State University, and local galleries have all shown their support and expressed an interest in further exhibitions in Columbus.

Pickard and Peterson will be showing their work in the lobby of 1590 High Street on the night of Thursday, July 13 as part of a joint venture with the South Campus Gateway, The Ohio State University, and the Wexner Center.

For one night only, the fifth floor of 1590 High Street, at the corner of High and 8th, at the South Campus Gateway came to life with art, design, music, and dance. The roughly 20,000sf open space was turned into a gallery by the artists themselves over the week leading up to the event. The artists and designers utilized the vast space and high ceilings to display completed works as well as create numerous installations and performance spaces.
