"...Art is the convergence of representation
and expression. The different styles of art are developed from
varying
the levels and means of delivery of each of these to differentiate
the process, and ultimately the product. There is no form of art
that is developed from the purely technical or the purely emotional,
only that which exist as some combination of the two. Without the
element of expression, the technical becomes a primitive form of
engineering or production, and without some level of the technical,
the element of expression can not be given its physical properties,
and would therefore cease to exist. Engineering is the purely technical,
and design exist between the technical and the emotional, elements
of design serve a purpose while exhibiting an effect, yet with
art, its very purpose, or function, may be its effect..." B
Pickard
The
artwork produced by Mr. Pickard and his colleagues relates to
their work
in design
through
experimentation,
process,
and concept. Each work of art is an expression and representation
of its raw industrial nature and the emotion driving its creation. |
